(MEN GOING THEIR OWN WAY)
Enter the Manosphere is a documentary project that shows the different communities in this movement through a series of short videos (red pills), from the point of view of a 'mangina' (a male feminist). All the material has been taken from Youtube.
The manosphere is a loose group of websites that deal with issues related with masculinity from a heterosexual and conservative perspective. Some of those issues are men's rights, seduction techniques, fitness tips and masculine and feminine features, genders they consider biologically determined.
This group emerges as a critical response to feminism and as a reaction to a world that favours women's interests -according to them-. In this context, men experience disadvantages in several matters: child custody, alimony payment, high suicide rates among men... Furthermore, they deny the existence of a patriarchal society, they offer reasons for the gender wage gap and they feel men are misrepresented in cases of domestic violence.
ENTER THE MANOSPHERE
Most of the members of the manosphere live in the United States and Canada and they are Donald Trump supporters. They use YouTube as a platform to express themselves with complete freedom, far from any political correctness in their comments, and they are frequently accused of misogyny. This movement takes the idea of the red pill from the Matrix film. A pill that allows us -as they say- to discover a reality that benefits women over men, despite the contrary popular belief promoted by feminism.
Enter the Manosphere is a documentary project that shows the diversity of this movement through a series of short videos, like red pills that allow us to know a trend that defends masculinity as an unquestionable virtue against femininity -always under suspicion-. All the material has been taken from Youtube. This website has become an ideal tribune for a movement that is often on the verge of crossing the community guidelines. Rules that are supposed to forbid stirring up hatred against any collective.
